Refusing to Choose: Overcoming the 3 Invisible Walls to a Limitless Life

Author | Sajith Ansar, Cofounder Unlimits
Society constantly forces us to choose our identities. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? A family person or a career person? I finally realized that I am greedy. I want everything, and I refuse to choose. I want professional success, but I also want to play padel four times a week, game with my son, travel the world, and read continuously.
To build this limitless life, I had to confront the three invisible walls that quietly block us from taking action.
Safety vs. Risk
We are wired to crave safety. To step into a new vision, you have to embrace the risk of the unknown, because your new edge lives just outside that safety.
Conscious Wants vs. Subconscious Needs
We often say we want one thing, like freedom, but subconsciously need something else, like control. That hidden conflict stops us delegating and growing.
Short-Term Gratification vs. Long-Term Vision
It is always easier to choose the immediate comfort of Netflix after a long day than to take a step toward a long-term dream of fitness or business.
Tear down the walls with systems
To break through, I built strict systems. I ran a time detox, cutting inefficiencies and setting non-negotiable boundaries for the gym and my family. I delegated obsessively and focused only on high-value work. I brought my own schedule down to a couple of focused hours a week while my company’s net profit kept climbing.
You do not have to sacrifice your life for your goals. Build the right systems, and you truly can have it all.
